Our services

REACH compliance services, explained in plain English

We don't do off-the-shelf packages. Every quote is based on your actual substances, tonnage, and what you need to export legally. Below is what we offer — and what each service actually means for your business.

How Reychem works

Reychem acts as your project coordinator and single point of contact. The specialist technical work — IUCLID dossiers, toxicological assessments, chemical safety reports — is carried out by our network of experienced REACH consultants. This means you get expert-level technical work with a straightforward, accessible service. No jargon gatekeeping, no inflated corporate fees.

Free starter service

REACH Check & Game Plan

The best place to start. Before you spend money on anything else, you need to know exactly what's required for your specific products.

We take a look at your substance list, check each CAS number against the REACH registered substance database (UK and/or EU), assess your likely tonnage bands, and identify any substances of very high concern (SVHC) that need extra attention.

You get a short, plain-language report that tells you:

  • Which substances need registration (and which don't)
  • Whether you need an Only Representative appointment
  • What tonnage band applies and what that means for costs
  • Any SVHC or authorisation issues to be aware of
  • A clear recommended sequence of actions

The initial REACH check is free. The full written Game Plan report is a paid service — but we'll tell you that upfront.

Most popular

Only Representative (OR) — UK & EU

If you're exporting chemicals to the UK or EU as a non-EU/non-UK manufacturer, you almost certainly need an Only Representative. This is the most common thing Indian exporters need from us.

What is an Only Representative?

Under REACH, the person responsible for registration must be established in the UK (for UK REACH) or in the EU/EEA (for EU REACH). As an Indian manufacturer, you're not established there — so you have two options:

  1. Ask your UK/EU importer to register (which puts a burden on them and can create friction)
  2. Appoint an Only Representative — a company established in the UK or EU that registers on your behalf

Option 2 is almost always better for your commercial relationships. When Reychem acts as your OR, your importer is relieved of their registration obligations and your product's DUIN (REACH registration number) is held centrally by us.

UK OR vs EU OR — what's the difference?

Since Brexit, UK REACH and EU REACH are separate regulations. If you want to sell into both markets, you may need separate OR appointments for each. We can act as your OR for one or both — we'll clarify what's needed based on where your products are going.

  • UK REACH OR: registered with HSE (Health & Safety Executive, UK)
  • EU REACH OR: registered with ECHA (European Chemicals Agency)
  • We hold your DUIN and manage downstream user obligations
  • Annual OR maintenance included
  • You can terminate the appointment at any time
Technical core

REACH Registration & Dossier Preparation

If your substance isn't already registered (or your tonnage has changed), you'll need to submit a registration dossier to ECHA or HSE. This is the most technically intensive part of REACH — and where our specialist network earns its keep.

What's involved in a REACH registration?

A REACH dossier is a technical package that describes a substance's identity, hazard properties, exposure scenarios, and how it can be used safely. It's submitted electronically via IUCLID software and must meet detailed ECHA/HSE requirements.

We manage the entire process — you don't need any REACH knowledge yourself:

  • Substance identity and physicochemical data gathering
  • Hazard assessment (using existing data or read-across/QSAR where possible)
  • Chemical Safety Report (CSR) where required (>10 t/yr)
  • IUCLID dossier preparation and submission
  • SIEF (Substance Information Exchange Forum) coordination if joining a joint submission
  • Letter of Access (LoA) negotiation with existing registrants where relevant
  • Communication with ECHA or HSE throughout

How much does a dossier cost?

Costs vary significantly based on tonnage band, how much existing data is available, and whether data studies need to be commissioned. We'll give you a realistic cost estimate after reviewing your substance(s). We won't surprise you mid-project.

Brexit transition

UK REACH / Brexit Transition

Brexit created a separate UK chemical regulation — UK REACH — administered by the HSE. If you were selling into the UK via EU REACH registrations, you may have a separate obligation to address.

UK REACH in a nutshell

After Brexit, the UK adopted its own version of REACH, retained in UK law. The key difference: EU REACH registrations no longer cover sales into Great Britain. UK-based importers were given transitional time to register under UK REACH, but those transition windows are closing.

As an Indian exporter, the key questions are:

  • Is your UK importer registered under UK REACH, or are they relying on a transitional arrangement that is about to expire?
  • Does your importer have a UK REACH registration (UKRIN), or do you need a UK OR?
  • Are there any substances on the UK REACH SVHC list that need authorisation?

This is an area where many Indian exporters have simply not been told about the separate UK obligation. We'll check your situation and tell you clearly what needs to happen — before a UK customs issue brings it to your attention the hard way.

Documentation

Safety Data Sheets, Labels & Supply Chain Documentation

Even if your substance is registered, your UK or EU buyer will likely ask for a compliant Safety Data Sheet (SDS) as part of the order process. Getting this wrong can hold up your first shipment.

What we produce for you

  • UK SDS: 16-section SDS compliant with UK REACH Annex II and GB CLP, in English, with the correct HSE guidance format
  • EU SDS: 16-section SDS compliant with EU REACH Annex II and EU CLP (Regulation 1272/2008), in the required language(s)
  • CLP hazard labels: UK and/or EU compliant labels with correct GHS pictograms, signal words, hazard and precautionary statements
  • Exposure Scenarios (ES): Attached to extended SDS where required (for registered substances above 10 t/yr)
  • Downstream User communication: Notification and record-keeping support for your UK/EU buyers

Why not just use a generic template?

UK and EU SDS requirements changed significantly after Brexit and are updated regularly. A generic or outdated SDS template risks non-compliance, returned shipments, or liability issues for your buyer — which damages your commercial relationship. We produce SDS documents specific to your substance, intended uses, and the correct regulatory version.

Training & support

Training & On-call Consulting

Want your team to understand REACH well enough to manage day-to-day questions without always going to a consultant? We offer practical training workshops and retainer support.

REACH training workshops

We run online workshops specifically designed for Indian exporters — covering the basics of REACH in plain English, what your UK/EU buyers mean when they ask for compliance documentation, and how to identify issues before they become problems. Sessions are tailored to your industry sector (dyes & pigments, surfactants, agrochemicals, etc.).

Workshop formats available:

  • Half-day introductory session: "REACH for Indian Exporters"
  • Full-day deep-dive: substance classification, SDS, Only Representative explained
  • Sector-specific sessions (textile chemicals, dyes & pigments, pharma intermediates, etc.)
  • Bespoke in-house workshop for your regulatory and export teams

On-call retainer support

For companies who handle REACH work internally but need expert backup, we offer a monthly retainer. You get a named consultant to call or WhatsApp when something comes up — new substance queries, buyer requests, compliance checks, or interpreting ECHA/HSE guidance.

Not sure which service you need?
